Isleworth has deep roots in Florida's citrus heritage. In the 1890's when cold weather created a fruit shortage, two brother's Sydney and Joshua Chase, located a verdant isle surrounded by warm lakes. In 1984 Arnold Palmer transformed this isle into a spectacular community encompassing one of his signature golf courses. Today, Tavistock Group continues to promote and cultivate Isleworth's past with one simple precept - only the best. This private residential country club community is located 20 minutes west of Orlando on 7 ½ miles of Central Florida's protected Butler Chain of Lakes, and has recently undergone a multi-million dollar enhancement to the 18- hole championship course by Steve Smyers. The golf course is built on rolling terrain and features greens that are generous, undulating and fast. In fact, Isleworth is consistently ranked the longest and toughest course in the state by the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA). The golf course was not the only enhancement taking place in this dynamic community, Isleworth also added a 7,000 square foot state-of-the-art Champions Grill to the existing grand Mediterranean clubhouse. The new lounge includes a golf simulator, indoor basketball hoop and half court, 3-hole indoor putting green, pool table, poker table and arcade style games surrounded by 10 plasma screen televisions. Additionally, the international auction house Sotheby's has once again selected Isleworth to host a private exhibit of 20 pieces of priceless, Modern Sculpture in mid-November. Isleworth has clearly established itself as one of the most beautiful and prestigious luxury communities in the world. |
